NXT Firmware version 1.26 BUG - READ FOR FIX

posted Nov 17, 2009, 9:40 AM by Travis Hoffman   [ updated Aug 31, 2010, 8:32 AM ]

ALL TEAMS who use NXT-G programming software 2.0 and are running NXT firmware version 1.26 should upgrade their NXT brick firmware to version 1.28.  If you are running version 1.26, there are known bugs associated with it.  Installing 1.28 will correct the problem.

Go here for more information on how to check whether you are running firmware version 1.26 and how to upgrade to 1.28:

Important! Smart Move Ohio Event Registration opens 10/5/09, runs through 10/16

posted Oct 2, 2009, 12:16 PM by Travis Hoffman

Dear Ohio FLL Teams:

Ohio Regional Qualifying Tournament Registration:  Monday, October 5, 2009 through October 16, 2009

Registration for Ohio qualifying tournaments will open one minute past midnight on October 5 and close at midnight on October 16.  You will register in the “Events” section of the FLL registration website at https://gofll.usfirst.org.  Scroll through the “Event Group Name” list to find the “FLL Ohio Qualifying and Championship Tournaments.”  Once registration opens on October 5, you will be able to select your 1st, 2nd and 3rd tournament choices.

Event Cost for attending a regional qualifying tournament is $50.00 per team.  You will receive payment information in the confirmation e-mail you will receive when you complete the on-line registration process.  You will be able to pay by credit card or by check.  You can send a check for $50 per team made out to The Ohio Educational Outreach Foundation and mail it to:

WPAFB Educational Outreach

Attn: Kim Stultz

2130 Eighth Street, Bldg. 45, Rm. 45

WPAFB, OH 45433-7542

Make sure you include your FLL number on your check.

Starting October 5, you can pay by credit card at The Ohio Educational Outreach Foundation website at www.oeof.org.  Click on “Pay FLL Ohio Tournament Registration Fees,” which will take you to the OEOF PayPal account.  A $2 processing fee will be added if you choose to use the PayPal option.

1.       Before you can register your team, you must update your team profile in the FLL registration site, and YOUR TEAM MUST HAVE A COACH listed for your team who has accepted the invitation to coach, or you will not be able to register your team for a tournament.  A name in the “Purchaser” field alone is not enough for you to register your team for an event.  I checked the database, and many teams do not have the required information in order to register for an event.  Please go into the system to verify that your information is current and that you do have a coach in place for your team.

2.       You must register for the Ohio event group – you will select your first, second and third choices for tournaments in Ohio.

You can find information for each qualifying tournament as it becomes available on our “Competitions” page of our Ohio FLL website at: http://edoutreach.wpafb.af.mil/Robotics/pages/competitions_reg.html/.   When each event information page has been completed, you will be able to access that information by clicking on the name of the event.   As we progress through the season, more information will be added (team lists, schedules, team packets, parent packets, etc) that you and your team may find helpful as you prepare for your tournament.

At the top of the “Ohio Regional Qualifying Events” page on the Ohio FLL website, you will find a link to the FLL registration site (https://gofll.usfirst.org),  where you will be able to register your team starting on October 5, 2009, as well as a “Tournament Registration Frequently Asked Questions” link (http://edoutreach.wpafb.af.mil/Robotics/pages/competitions_faq.html).   This document should answer all of your tournament registration questions.

I have also attached the “Event Application Process” document prepared by FLL headquarters for you to reference if you need further assistance.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to send me an e-mail directly.

Good luck as you prepare to register your team to attend a tournament.
